Casey James Gives Good Meaning To Music: Hall of Fame Kick Off Party at Jerzee's Sports Grille 8/6/15

One who's been to a live Casey James show knows the musician behind the songs. His words ring true to the soul to the integritiy to his authentic self. James was welcomed with open arms this past week who returned to the city of Canton, he's no stranger to the area as he was first welcomed to near by North Canton 4 years ago, and since then life and career has changed for the Texas native. Once an American Idol contestant James counts his mother Debra (Bybee) James for influencing him to compete on the reality based talent competition 5 years ago. Yes, I've done the math. Since his Idol days James recorded and released his self titled debut album that spawned the singles "Let's Don't Call It A Night", "Crying On A Suitcase" and "The Good Life", although it were the tracks "Drive", "So Sweet" and "She's Money" that would have country music insiders and fans of all ages take notice of the immense talent behind the musician. There is no category to place James in, he's in a league all his own that combines soul, grit, passion, folk and blues to country music. The versatility James pocess remains true, and continues to remain humble living a musicians life.  Jerzee's Sports Grille located at Belden in Canton, Ohio welcomed James to perform at this year's Football Hall of Fame Kick Off Parking Lot Party with rocker Kevin Rudolph. What made the event even that much more special was the foundation behind the event. In Your Shoes The Sophia Capo Memorial Foundation. The foundation was founded by Lauren Capo, the mother of Sophia Capo a special little girl who passed away just 15 days after her birth of CHD,a Congenital Heart Defect in 2013. The lives of the Capo family was forever changed. Their mission working to raise Congenital Heart Defect Awareness in memory of their daughter Sophia. Helping families that have been affected by CHD's. Knowing, dealing and coping is a continued challenge in the lives of those affected. James and Rudolph spent time at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital earlier in the day to visit and interact with the children. The heart is a powerful source in a person's life, and it did not only touch those they met it was the ever lasting effect that will be remembered. James who took to the stage a quarter pass 10 pm opened with " I Got Mine" a song that is the heart of James. It was the performance of "Fuel" however that had the crowd cheering. The musicality of the band and James might have had it's moments with the audio and static which at times were muffled and unable  to hear, it not once went unnoticed instrumentally. Dino Villanueva on bass and back round vocals sheered enthusiasim and swag. Jeff Brown on drums kept it in sync with rawness, the tight rythm oozed electricity, On keys Scott Joyce's fluidity was silky smooth, a clear favorite, just saying. More than an hour passsed when James asked fans if they wanted to hear more, and very well encouraged James to keep performing. It was well going on midnight before closing the show. The Casey James band has finally arrived despite any setbacks in the musicians life. There is more waiting in the wings for James and his band of brothers.
