Kip Moore "I'm To Blame"

COUNTRY MUSIC CITY PROMOTIONS, Shellie Palmer

The first single release from his highly anticipated sophomore album WILD ONES,"I'm To Blame", Kip Moore delivers the catch & hook with heart thumping banjo and percussion that make it a single hit of 2015, and if that wasn't enough the conviction in Moore's graspy snare vocals give it old school western flare. The opening tells the story truthfully. "If it ain't broke you can bet that I'm gonna break it, if there's a wrong road i'm damn sure going to take it, where there's smoke, my pocket lighter sparked the fire. Where there's blue lights, just read me my rights"he sings. Moore's unapologetic tone bluntfully tells it like it is in the chorus. "No, they don't make guys like me, you get exactly what you see. I come from a long line of blood line and that ain't gonna change. Take your pistol pointing finger right off of the triger, I know where to aim. Hell, I'm to blame". Truthfully Moore get's it right along the lines saying he'll take the blame, but don't count him out getting his last word in. Straight forward with punch right to the gut of it all. "I'm To Blame" will have industry peers and fans alike cheering along.

Doug Briney "Pretty Big Deal"

COUNTRY MUSIC CITY PROMOTIONS, Shellie Palmer review

The newly released 3rd single from Doug Briney's Tate Music Group debut "Pretty Big Deal" is the deal. Aside from the artist, entertainer, motivational speaker Doug Briney is simply an ordinary guy, to his family he's a pretty big deal, no pun intended.  Family holds it together for Briney who can do it all he sings, "Cause I can kill a spider read a story book take off training wheels and put a worm on a hook turn a card board box into a Bat-mobile Holy Rug-rats I'm a pretty big deal". Aside from it "Pretty Big Deal" has it, a hit country radio song with a story line fans and listeners simply relate to, after all, we're all a part of a family. It's the unity and love of a family. Accompanied by steel and bass guitar Briney's vocals have their shining moment without an over powering sound, refreshingly enjoyable. The bluesy swagger  tone is cut for radio no matter the genre you would classify it. Pretty Big Deal sets itself apart, you know the artist when the song comes on. It's a pretty big deal in my song book as a hit single of 2015.
